Returns and Refunds Policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026
This policy applies to purchases from www.helmetdock.co.za. It does not limit any rights you have under applicable South African consumer law.
For assistance, contact sales@helmetdock.co.za.
1. How to request a return
Email us with:
- Your order number or other proof of purchase.
- Your name and contact details.
- The reason for the return.
- Photographs of any damage, defect or incorrect item, where reasonably possible.
We will provide return instructions and the appropriate collection or return address.
Contacting us helps coordinate the return. Our internal reference or approval process does not remove a valid statutory return right.
2. Faulty, unsafe or defective products
If goods fail to meet the applicable quality standards under the Consumer Protection Act within six months after delivery, you may return them without penalty and at our risk and expense.
Where the statutory remedy applies, you may choose a repair, replacement or refund. We will not require you to accept a repair instead of another remedy to which you are entitled.
We may reasonably inspect the product to establish the nature and cause of the problem. An inspection will not be used to deny or unnecessarily delay a valid claim.
This six-month provision does not remove any additional rights that may apply.
3. Problems after a repair
If a repair does not resolve the problem, or a further defect or unsafe feature arises within three months after the repair, we will provide the replacement or refund required by applicable law.
4. Incorrect, incomplete or delivery-damaged orders
Please inspect your order when reasonably possible and report incorrect items, missing components or delivery damage promptly.
Photographs of the item, packaging and courier label can help us investigate. We do not impose a short reporting deadline that overrides your legal rights.
Where the issue is our responsibility, we will arrange the appropriate remedy and cover the necessary return or collection costs.
5. Misuse, installation damage and wear
Ordinary wear, accidental damage, unsuitable installation or alterations contrary to instructions may fall outside a defect claim where they caused the problem.
We assess each case individually. Installing or opening the product does not automatically remove your rights concerning a genuine defect.
6. Packaging and components
Please include the relevant components and accessories and use protective packaging.
The absence of original packaging alone will not invalidate a statutory defective-goods claim. Contact us if you need advice on safely packaging a return.
7. Refunds
Refunds will ordinarily be made through the original payment method. If that is not possible, we will agree a suitable alternative with you and may verify the recipient’s details.
Bank and payment-provider processing times may affect when the funds appear in your account. We will process refunds within the applicable legal deadlines.
We will not substitute store credit for a monetary refund where you are legally entitled to your money back, unless you choose that option.
8. Cancelling before dispatch
Contact us as soon as possible if you wish to cancel before dispatch. If the order has already been dispatched, we will explain the applicable return process.
Any cancellation charge must be lawful and explained. Qualifying statutory cooling-off cancellations are handled under section 2 above.
9. Returns outside statutory rights
We do not offer an additional general change-of-mind return period beyond applicable legal rights. We may consider other requests individually without affecting those rights.
